6" Standard 55 Gallon Compactor

The Standard Smash-It™ 55 gallon compactor is used for many waste streams which are collected and disposed of in 55 gallon drums.

  • American Compactor, Inc.

Operation
These units are extremely easy to use. Once they are connected to an air source, the drum that is to be compacted into must be centered under the ram plate and then press the palm buttons.

Caution: Be sure not to place any rigid material, such as metal and wood, in the container to be compacted. The Smash-It™ compactors are designed to compact compressible materials like cloth, paper, and plastic items only. If unsure whether the material meets these criteria, please check with American Compactor, Inc.

Safety
These compactors were designed with safety in mind. The actuator is a two-hand, no tie-down safety circuit that provides output only when both palms are pressed within two tenths of a second. If the buttons are released, the compaction plate is automatically retracted.

Non-Sparking Features
Smash-It™ compactors are pneumatic only and do not require any electrical connection.
The ram plate is a composite resin and fiberglass material which is non-sparking.

Wheels:
Product Number WH1051A
Wheels are available for the 55 gallon pneumatic units. They aid in the moving of the compactors with ease. A pair of wheels is attached to one of the side legs of the compactor. To move, simply tilt the unit to one side and roll (just like a handcart or dolly).

Ram Stay Down Option:
Product Number SDK-1001
Normally the compactor ram plate will extend when the palm buttons are pushed and retract when they are released. However, with the Ram Stay Down Option, the ram plate will remain in the down position when the palm buttons are released. Then, another button is pushed and held to have the ram plate retract.
